Hi All,

Please take a look at this discussion on LinkedIn; I though some of us might add some valuable suggestions to it:

I do not have the "best " string to screen out irrelevant results; I typically add words that show up on irrelevant pages after I do a search, with a minus oin front. Then I keep repeating the process till I am satisfied with the results, meaning that the number of irrelevant results is small. What about you?

If it's in google, then -intext:resume -intext:resumes works really well.... (-inbody:resume etc. for Live.com)

If it's LinkedIN profiles using Google such as site:www.linkedin.com keywords location
I use -intitle:directory -inurl:answers -inurl:updates -inurl:find -inurl:"company profile" -inurl:jobid

The above filters out everything that isn't a LI profile.

For (inurl:resume | intitle:resume) keywords locations in Google,
I use -job -jobs -sample -samples -careers -"resume service" that seems to work for filtering out 'noise' and bringing back just resumes.

I'd like to add more of what Donato was looking for. Back in December 08 we had a Boolean Contest with the following question.
"Please provide a string that will result in the maximum number of CV/Resumes amongst the first 100 results on Google when appended to a job title that the judges will pick at random from the top 100 job postings in Indeed.com. "
