I agree with the Ladders (Passport - which is free) - except that their boolean search hasn't worked for months.

I have always liked the Ladders.

I would add Patent Search (Google Patent search or USPTO search engine) as well.

I tried that cvhaystack and nothing happens.

What about org chart websites?  Anyone use wikiorgcharts.com or cogmap.com or theofficialboard.com or any others?

Sounds good.

If we don't include buggy tools we'll have to remove LinkedIn as well!

Katharine,

Thanks for a great list. If you would like to add more names to each category, please feel free.

I like Email sourcing tools - things like Raprortive, email-format.com etc.

If it's going to be international then maybe include Viadeo, Xing, Plaxo, Skillpages etc.

How about social tools like followerwonk, falcon.io etc.

It would be interesting to know how many people make use of LinkedIn Signal.

Definitely agree that Bullhorn Reach should be in there.

Look forward to seeing the results of this - great idea!

Katharine

Lisa, I would be interested to hear more about each.

Thanks,

Irina

  A few I use

HiringSolved   LeadFerret   scguild.com  social-hire.com

Google Chrome Image search - Reverse engineering using image from one social site to find other social sites to seek contact information

Thanks! I am not sure; I am not a fan of meta-search engines.

For search engines, there's also Ixquick/Startpage

HiringSolved is pay site to post - search resumes tied to LinkedIn & other social media or personal blogs etc.

Usually you have email or phone number

LeadFerret is similar to jigsaw but I find the information more reliable - You can gain points by sending tweets etc.

Viewing the card is free - Downloading car or several cards cost points

scguild.com is Sofware Contractor's Guild - Free to post - search IT related

SocialHire free site to post jobs - push jobs to social media - Interact with possible candidates

Many of my favourites have already been named but I would like to add Facebook Graph Search into the mix. Quite an amazing way of filtering by gender, age, location, employer etc. For some reason I have BETA but it will be rolled out soon I hear.

Another Gmail addition is Yesware.com which shows when people open your email, where and even on what device. I am advised they are working on an Outlook integration but in the meantime you can look at ToutApp and ContactMonkey for this. Using Yesware with Rapportive and Boomerang gives some interesting options !

The email permutator that searches for all email combinations which you then put into Rapportive is here http://bit.ly/165c4Cb Click File then Make a copy to edit.

The best email tester I use is http://bit.ly/X4p4lK

And one just to make your life easier and put all of your social media contacts into one place is http://connectedhq.com

Thanks to all for the great suggestions!

I just ran across another list http://www.colleague.eu/goodies/details/cool-recruiting-tools-list.

I have written a brief overview of the suggestions on my blog http://booleanstrings.com/2013/03/20/people-sourcing-tools-suggesti...

We will be launching the survey first thing on Monday.
