CNC MACHINIST

Anyone have any idea where i can find these guys? I need CNC Machinist with Lathe experience.

Hmm... best bet is targetting competitors with local ops to the worksite you're staffing. Local training schools, too, if they're open to the less experienced (though you can occasionally pick off an experienced machinist who's picking up some new technology courses).

 

Otherwise, the usual methods work, just don't always produce as many responses as you'd hope. I was initially surprised how many different job titles mean "the one who grinds down the edges of metal bits with giant piece of manufacturing equipment". :)

Me too, i was suprised by the breadth of machinist and types of duties.

Answer:  product is premium threads on oil and gas tubes/pipes and it's engine lathes but what's important is the experience to cut premium threads, read and use measuring tools like calipers.

I found it's easier to advertise these kind of jobs on craiglist and sift through resume :)

Yeah, that's what we usually do, too. :) Well, that and a lot of cold calling.

 

The vast majority of the jobs we work, we have no local presence in the target area. Unfortunately, for certain job types it can be a lot easier to hang out a sign or hit the street than to run ads.
