When Google displayes results, for many pages you will see two links: one to the current page and one to the "cached" page, i.e. the page that Google had copied into its internal database when it last visited the site. Quite often the page will be gone from the web but the cached page will still have, say, a resume with the contact info. Another way to access a cached page is to use cache:url

Here's a related point. An interesting search engine called "WayBackMachine" will do a search for pages that used to be online years ago. It's located at

Another great way to use the waybackmachine is to flip through the different versions of competitors websites in order to analyse their strategic development. So for all of you that were not aware of this great tool before, play and learn.
