Full profiles for 3rd-degree connections on LinkedIn

Has LinkedIn made changes to its rules for viewing 3rd-degree connections?

Even x-ray searches on Google aint helping in viewing full profiles, Below is the message displayed after initial details on a profile.

"Full profiles for 3rd-degree connections are available only to premium account holders.

Is there anyone who is facing this issue?

Thank You,
Praveen

Praveen,

It's a little hard to keep the timeline of the various LI changes straight in my mind, but I don't recall ever having full third party profile access.

Profile access is a function of several things -

1) User profile settings

2) LI access rules

Sometimes it is hard to know which is blocking you for a given profile.

The complete PUBLIC profile should be visible for any user. If it is not, try logging out?

Or if you have more details to share, please do.

It sounds as though you have found a profile in a Google search. To view more info, as David is suggesting, log out of LinkedIn.

If you are logged into LinkedIn, your Google search results (which are public profile URLs) will be shown in a logged-in state, where you will see the above message about upgrading and less info than Google can "see" for all the 3rd level connections and members who are beyond your network.

I don't think user settings affect how profiles are seen in a logged-in state a whole lot (there are a couple options).

Most LinkedIn users keep the default settings on everything.

One way to get around the log on and off issue is to run two separate browsers. I run firefox and internet explorer simultaneously. I am logged in on firefox, but do my google/linkedin searches in internet explorer.

Thanks for that little tip

A very clever colleague of mine discovered that, if you "Export to PDF", you have full access to a 3rd Degree Connection's profile!  Thought I'd share :)

Hi Praveen,

I am also facing the same issues, but yes am pending to try with the suggestion of community.

Hi Prem,

Can you elaborate more.

prem said:

yes, I figured it out.

just go to your any first level connection, then open his profile and click view/edit contact info.

Then in address bar change profile id and press enter.

open the profile url from view/edit contact info.

you will see full name of 3rd degree and as well "full profile view"

let me know if it worked or not.

I am happy to you.

Hi Prem,

Its little confusing..

Please explain.

There is a trick that will work

In this URL there is a number

http://www.linkedin.com/pymk/pcard?mid=2290296&trk=pymk_page_in...

First open the url.

Than search for the number of the profile you want to see.

Past that number in the URL and you can view every thing

Hi Michael,

Thanks for sharing the trick, it works very well.

Regards,

Rajkumar
