Industrial Fan Design Engineer

I am new to this Network so be easy on me!

I am trying to identify candidates qualifed for an opening with my client in Cleveland, Ohio.

The client will pay for relocation.

I need a 4-year degreed Engineer who is an Industrial (mine ventilation and chemical ventilation are typical applications) Fan Design Engineer - if they don't know fans, they aren't qualified.

Position: Fan Engineer

Our N.E. Ohio client is a leading supplier of air pollution and air handling equipment with over 50 years of design and fabrication experience. Their fans are the favorite repeat choice of engineers, architects, municipalities and industrial plants around the world. Their products are used by companies serving a wide variety of industries including: chemical, steel, pharmaceutical, solar and wastewater.

Job Summary:

Position calls for a designer working primarily with SolidWorks. Work experience to include 3-D design of mechanical systems utilizing metal and/or fiberglass structures with piping. Applicant should be able to design, detail, and change existing documents, working closely with a design engineer. In addition to his/her design responsibility, the potential candidate should be able to produce layouts and bills of materials for submission to manufacturing. The applicant must be able to work independently and communicate well with the assigned design engineer. Organization and accuracy are a must.

Essential Functions:

· Prepare fan base and fan housing models

· Prepare general arrangement drawings

· Complete fan assemblies

· Interpret engineers’ and plant sketches, written instructions and/or verbal instruction

· Produce detailed drawings

· Perform all work in accordance with established standards and practices using the equipment and software programs furnished.

Additional Responsibilities:

The candidate may be asked to spend time in the manufacturing plant observing and experiencing that work environment. He/she may be asked to obtain dimensions from existing parts for particular assignments working on possible retrofit part dimensions. He/she may be required to invest the time to complete projects on schedule which may require working past normal business hours and/or weekends.

Education and Experience:

· 4-year degree; Mechanical Engineering.

· Minimum 2 years of 3D CAD design experience using SolidWorks.

· Familiarity with AutoCAD would be an advantage.

· Experienced in the areas of FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic), piping (metal and PVC), ventilation, air handling equipment, and some structural steel exposure are highly preferable.

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
