The Internet Sourcing Community

During the last open chat I asked a question about inmails in general.  I now have a question about what I should say to entice someone for a highly specific and technical position that will most likely have to be relocated to the area.    It seems like the message should have something that entices the candidate for the technology or the company.

Does anyone have any examples of what they have sent for positions that are geographically a little more challenging?

The company is a network security company and the position would be based in Ann Arbor, MI!  I realize there are a fair amount of technical people in the area because of U of M, but I think this is going to be too specific.

You can tell them the positives about this opportunity first, then get them on the phone and disclose the challenges.

It also helps if you take a look at the positives of the geo you're moving people to, and look for people who are:

1) Currently in similar geo areas (climate, demography, economy)

2) Currently in less pleasant geo areas / areas less plaesing to them (takes a bit more work)

3) Familiar with or have ties to the target geo (look at Facebook - do they have family / same surname friends in the location? | did they go to school in the area?)

So, if you are messaging people who are predisposed to or neutral about the location, then you're in a better starting position.
