I am looking for a strong quick reference guide to put together searches. Does anyone have a good source?

Attending one of Irina's webinars will be one of the best sources!
Check out the resources provided by the search engine as well.
I am more looking for a complete list of symbols/operators.
Mark,

The syntax is different for different search engines. All of them have good help pages. As an example, for Google you can check out http://www.google.com/help/cheatsheet.html - this will only be applicable to Google though and not to Bing or Monster. You can also check out http://www.google.com/support/websearch/?hl=en for more extended help.
