Sanjeev-

On this site: http://search.twitter.com/ you can use operators from Twiiter to search. Here's a link to those operators:

http://search.twitter.com/operators

Here's an example: sql near:Boston within:25mi

They also have an advanced search page with more options: http://search.twitter.com/advanced

Or you could try the xray command in Google: site:twitter.com and add your key words & areas-

Check my slideshare ppt.. will give u some idea
I have only tested it and I was not too impressed. I think there are easier ways to find people.
With the tools mentioned below you shouldn't have to spend hours "following" people on twitter. If a tool takes up too much of a recruiters time it's not valuable anymore. So use the tools below and limit the time you spend.
Thanks Gary for the help.

John,
Twitter for recruiting is still on the infancy stage.. it will take some time. I remember 4 yrs back many recruiters/companies used to say the same about Linkedin
And you are right there are easier ways to find people .. twitter is just one another tool..doing 2-3 tweets a day (relevant to your interest) take 2 mins.. its worth building a brand and Yes you can get sucked in to it (I know you aint recruiting on twitter.aspx ) so have to be careful but worth generating the leads.

Regards
Rithesh
