Dawn-

This isn't perfect, but will get you close, in Google try the following string:

site:www.linkedin.com "my resume" "box.net" (inurl:in | inurl:pub) -inurl:dir -inurl:answers

I usually don't search for resumes in just 'box.net' - I usually search anywhere it says "my resume" or "website * * resume" in the string. The last phrase will bring back resumes in the Website section on a LI profiles where the majority of them are-

Thanks Gary! I really appreciate your help

I aspire to be one third the sourcer you are! :).... one day.....

ps.. what are a couple of your favorite books on recruiting/sourcing that you think could really help someone who is looking to significantly improve those skills?

Dawn,

The problem is that the "applications" on LI (amazon reading list, box.net, etc) are not really part of the LI profile. LI's native search won't pick them up, and they aren't displayed on public profiles, so it's not really possible to search them.

I actually tried going the other route - finding people's webshares on box.net and linking them back to LI. Since each box.net embed in an LI profile has an RSS link, I had some hope! But box.net has all of the relevant directories blocked in its robots.txt file, so no legit search engine has them indexed and searchable. Unfortunately, each user's "box" has an psuedorandom alphanumeric identifier - just look at this ugly URL: https://www.box.net/shared/x5gn2s1xta/71afc293d4/rss.xml. So it's really not feasible for most of us to try to find people from that end of the link, either.

So, as Gary noted, the only way to really do this at all, is to search for instances where people not only HAVE a box.net on their LI profile to share their resume, but ALSO go out of their way to mention (in one of the searchable portions of the profile) "hey, go look at my box.net resume!".

Have you tried searching for the phrase "personal website"? I usually find personal contact info that way.

site:www.linkedin.com "personal website" (inurl:in | inurl:pub) -inurl:dir -inurl:answers

Personally mine would be more complex

site:www.linkedin.com ("greater atlanta") AND ("personal website") j2ee (inurl:in | inurl:pub) -inurl:dir -inurl:answers
