So I found someone on LinkedIn and then found email format and verified email was good.
I went back to the linkedin profile and clicked connect.
I put in the email address and clicked send invitation.
Now ....I click the back button (browser) 2 times to get back to that person's profile.
When I view the profile I see their contact information and it gives me the same email address I just used.
So is this verifying that the email address I just used is good?
The person has not accepted my invite yet so we are still not level 1.

Lisa,
Thanks for sharing! I am not sure, maybe... but there is a way to find out without sending that invite. If you create a dummy contact in MS Outlook, Xobni will show the profile. Rapportive will show the profile in gmail. This technique still works as well.
Hi Lisa,
No need to invite the person if you have the email, Just import that email from outlook, or from excel by file format csv, if the person is using that email you can directly see the contact info.
For example:
if I have Irina email ID Irina@braingainrecruiting.com, with out sending her invitation I can add her to to my linkedin contact list, where I can see her contact info with linkedin profile. Though she is in 3rd contact but you can see her email ID because you added to your Linkedin contacts....
Thanks

Lisa,
Actually, LinkedIn allows you to store contact information for people - this is in YOUR connection/contact settings, not THEIR profile. LinkedIn automatically adds this in some cases (such as the one you describe), but does not verify whether the info is correct, as far as I know.
There is a space on the profile where people can LIST this info (Perrsonal Info, I think, tends to be toward the bottom of the profile page), but that is not what you are seeing.

Hi Kandula,
Can you please tell how to add someone in our contact list even if the person is not our contact?
Thanks,
Maria.
