Another "Just for Fun"

My mom recently gave me another research task. There was a president who turned an almost "every day" word into a new word by adding 2 letters to the end, which made it a word not contained in the English dictionary. She believes he added the letters "ly" to the end of the word, creating this new word. What is the word?

Please do not post the word if you already know the answer. Please only post the string you used to find your answer. This will allow other people to try it, as well.

Yeah I know, I couldn't resist. How about:
list "presidential neologisms"

which returned a page on Google that lists a couple of potential answers to this question-

Kameron, the word is on that list. The goal of my exercises is to find a string that will give you the results without having to look at a "list" per say.

right but in this case, without knowing the word, the string was able to get a list that included the word. simply putting "presidential neologisms" into Google also produces the same link and your answer. :)

That definitely makes sense... Do you know which word it is? The biggest thing that throws this search off is that I put the fact my mom believed it ended with an "ly" which was not the case, realized after I found the word. When I search for something on the internet, I don't really type in what I'm looking for, but rather I think "how can my answer be expressed" so my thought was "* was a word first used by president ..." when that did not return my result, I just ran "word used by president" hoping, again, my results would appear when somebody says "* was a word used by president ..."

One of my first tests ever while learning my searching methods is really my favorite example of how I search, and it really made me understand how search engines work. What you type in is exactly what it returns. If you type "boy names" it will return websites with the phrase "boy names" on it, but if you type in "robert christopher michael jonathan carter rodney" it will give you a long list of boy names. My specific example is this:

A friend just bought a black and white dog, but can't think of a name. Run a search query on a search engine that returns the names of black and white dogs. You shouldn't have to click on a link to get the names.

Most people will go straight to google and type in "black and white dog names" which is of no use. Instead, think of how people talk about the name of the black and white dog. They will say something like "I have a black and white dog named *" or "I know a black and white dog named"....so, my search query is "black and white dog named"

My guess is normalcy, because its probably the most commonly used term on that list.

I also had tried "president *" added ly word to have it find president and the term following it...etc with little success. I tried "President * coined the term * * " and eventually I came upon neologisms (a newly coined word that may be in the process of entering common use). Even then it wasn't coming up with a word ending in ly...that was really throwing things off in my search. So I tried looking for (president|presidential|political) neologisms and from there "presidential neologisms" found the list.

Good test of the sourcing skills, thanks!

normalcy is the word...now that you explain your steps it took you to get to where you did, I actually appreciate it more. I thought you just went to google and immediately searched for list "presidential neologisms"
