Event Description

Our May session sold out, so we are repeating this course in June. Register here: https://sourcingcertification.com/overcominglimitations.

LinkedIn remains a top site for sourcing due to its accumulated "big data" and messaging capabilities. This class will go over the best practices, approaches, search (in-depth), verifying contact emails, messaging, and posting strategies. Our content is complementary to LinkedIn's Help.

LinkedIn has structured its data in ways that make it challenging to run exhaustive searches for your opening. Its standardized values for companies, skills, etc., cannot accommodate the user input for almost half of its members. Professionals who do not "close" past jobs create false positives and inflated numbers of results. It takes interactive, creative sourcing to uncover matching profiles.

This two-day course will prepare you to solve all of your LinkedIn Sourcing challenges.

Day 1 - Overcoming Limitations

In recent years, LinkedIn has continued to limit its search functions. If you have a Basic or Premium account, you need to be aware of the ongoing changes to LinkedIn search that cause counterintuitive (even wrong) results. For all personal account holders, LinkedIn has severely limited the Boolean search. Add more than a handful of ORs, ANDs, or NOTs to your search, and you will get no results.

Fortunately, we can overcome these limitations! In this class, we cover the best practices for effectively using and getting the most out of LinkedIn. The workarounds and use cases demonstrated in this class will boost your confidence and productivity.

Day 2 - Hidden Search Operators and URLs

At this time, unknown to many, users with LinkedIn business and personal accounts have the most powerful search capabilities due to the LinkedIn hidden search operators. The operator headline: is unique, and the filter is not available with Recruiter or any other account. We have also discovered and documented operators that search for skills, years of experience, and more.

Additionally, it has become possible to find members from a list of email addresses (with no need for a paid account). Join us as we go over the operator syntax, combinations, and use cases, followed by several LinkedIn sourcing “hacks” related to emails and X-Raying. Need we say more? If you search for professionals on LinkedIn, this class will multiply your sourcing powers many times.

Class Outcomes: You will learn a collection of workarounds and best practices to make LinkedIn® Sourcing more productive than ever before. These include alternatives to or workarounds for many limitations holding your back on LinkedIn®: special search features, getting around the Boolean limits, and more!

Day 1 - Overcoming Limitations
