Do you think Google supports Boolean search? Do you think LinkedIn supports Boolean search?

No! Neither does.

While both sites retain their Boolean operators for advanced users, their focus has shifted to semantic search: pulling in relevant data even if it is not a textual match. To use modern search engines effectively, we must combine traditional Boolean with these semantic search features. We must also update our expectations in order to correctly interpret search results.

This class will review the current Google and LinkedIn search algorithms and features. 

Recently, we were lucky enough to learn from Google insiders that Google responds differently to what it considers “open-ended” and “restrictive” searches. (There is no documentation on this.) If your goal is to maximize search results (especially with X-Ray searching), these insights are crucial for your sourcing.
