I am looking for suggestions regarding association or directory location. Take for instance "water treatment company directory" there must be a more precise way to drill for directory's.

I found two conferences at tsnn.com a trade show site, one was in USA. Hopefully you can backtrack info from that. Weddles also has association listings at http://www.weddles.com/associations/index.cfm. I know there are many other lists for associations.
Charley-

In GOOGLE, you can use the following string to xray a certain company for directories, lists, etc - just replace 'companyname' with the actual company name you want:

site:www.companyname.com (inurl:list | inurl:~members | inurl:directory | intitle:list | intitle:~members | intitle:~directory | inurl:staff | inurl:association | inurl:board | inurl:committee | intitle:association | intitle:board | intitle:committee | intitle:staff)

And try this one - (replace "conference name" w/actual name of conference you want):

(directory OR contact OR list) (inurl:members OR intitle:members OR inurl:participants OR intitle:participants OR inurl:attendees OR intitle:attendees) "Conference Name"
Gary,
Thank you for the string. I ofcourse starting working with it right away and it lead me to even more things I was hoping to find by tweeking the specific content. I took your string and ran so far away I neglected to thank you, thank you, thank you.
Glad it really helped you, Charley!

And if you need organization charts - here's a great site: http://www.cogmap.com
