HI all,
I wanted to share how to unlock the profile for the sourcing contest, my approach was different from Irina's since I used linkedin to unlock the right profile. Below is the brief explanation of my approach.
Here is the challenge:
This guy is from an island in Australia has profiles on G+, LI, & more. What color is the piece of furniture on his company page?#peoplesourcing
It was of course a tough one using this limited information but thanks to Boolean logic I was able to find the right profile at the end.
I started my search learning the islands in Australia and figured out that Tasmania is the most famous one with more professional profiles in linkedin. Then the search was focused on the professionals in this region, started framing the basic strings used the following information available. It made things easier with the clue that the candidate has a pinterest profile.
Location: Island in Australia (zeroed down to Tasmania)
Have profiles in various social media: G+, LI , pinterest etc. (gave me the clue that this person is social)
Has a piece of furniture in the company page (have company profile on the public profile)
Has a pinterest profile (assumed that there is a pinterest profile listed on linkedin page)
String:
site:au.linkedin.com “* * * pinterest” “location * tasmania” inurl:...
This string reveals the right profile Mr. Phillip Drury, by clicking his company website which has the red couch in the start page and the social media icons there made me confident in judging the right profile and verified his name in google plus and pinterest to confirm the result .
Learnings:
