Question from a Friend: Diversity Programmers in NYC; how does one find them?

Here is what a friend is asking:
"So, where would you go for Diversity Programmers? I am not new to this, but would love to hear your suggestions. Looking for Java or C++, C#, women and minority developers (in NYC)."

Interesting...I'm sure I'll think of something and I'll get back to this.
Target minority universities and colleges, as well as minority greek organizations (fraternities/sororities), or any other organization that supports minorities. It may also be very possible that a candidate was the recipient of a minority scholarship of some sort, so they may have that on the resume.
I have heared of "Minority and Women-owned Businesses" but not on Developers. Do you wanna search profiles from this orgnaizations then you can just search for H1b Visa holder profiles. If you need help pls email me, i have couple of profiles in my pool local to NYC

Hi Irina

Here are strings your friend can append to the normal resume search to give a chance for African-American candidate to come on top of the results.

("Alpha Phi Alpha" OR "Kappa Alpha Psi" OR "Omega Psi Phi" OR "Phi Beta Sigma" OR "Iota Phi Theta" OR "Alpha Kappa Alpha" OR "Delta Sigma Theta" OR "Zeta Phi Beta" OR "Sigma Gamma Rho")
