Boolean Strings Network

The Internet Sourcing Community

Here is a mini-challenge for you all:

There is a person on LinkedIn who is a Java Engineer. The person has no connections. His/her email is

findmeonlinkedin@gmail.com

Questions:

1) Is it a man or a woman?
2) Where is the person located?

Have fun!

-Irina

P.S. The first person to solve this will be invited to attend either the Boolean and Semantic Webinar this Friday or Social Media Sourcing from A to Z on Thursday Nov 12th free of charge.

Hi Maha,

This is exactly right! Great job!
I got this same reply in an answer from another member, Jess Rossman, just minutes ago. Since I got both answers almost together, you are both invited to attend a webinar; let me know if you are interested.

Would you like to offer another mini-challenge for the rest of us?

Irina

Bret,

Thanks for your reply. Can you please explain why you think it's a man from the Netherlands?

Hi Irina,

Loved the challenge. Can you walk us through how I should have found this person. I did not find a way to input the email as a reference or find a way to sort by number of connections (that was probably the best way). Linkedin would only let me look at a few pages before asking me to upgrade. Help!

Thank you,
Debbie
Thanks for the challenge Irina. I am also wondering if you could walk through how you would solve this challenge. I got the answer, but wasn't sure I got in the best possible way.

- Jess Rossman
Hi Jess,

Congratulations on solving!
There are a number of ways: upload a text file with a list of emails; or use a gmail account. Or, you could use the LinkedIn Toolbar for Outlook.

How did you come up with the correct answer?

I guess I did do it right. I put the email address in to my gmail contacts and then went to the 'add connections' page on LinkedIn. From there, I accessed my gmail contacts and found a couple LinkedIn members with 0 connections. Mary Taylor had the newest profile, so I checked that one first.
Yeah, I came up with that answer too but he doesn't find the profile of a java engineer with 0 connections. We should at least get some brownie points for trying :-)

Take a look at Sietse credentials on LinkedIn and what he does. It doesn't say Java engineer as Mary's does, but his work, his company, and his field all spell the elements of Java engineering and development.
OK... I'm afraid he's by far not the only Java engineer on LI...did you notice the requirement of having a particular email address?
