Boolean Strings Network

The Internet Sourcing Community

I need to find some strong candidates who have very strong Java, JavaScript, Ajax, and SQL database
experience. Coupled with experience working in environments where he\she is involved in 'open source' development of products (i.e. web server \ CRM tools).

Not sure how to start or where to look outside of LinkedIn. This is the string I currently have for linkedin -

site:linkedin.com (Java | "Java Script") ("Open Source" | "development") "New York, New York" (inurl:pub | inurl:in) -intitle:directory

Any help or guidance here would be greatly appreciated.

For your string to work effectively, you need to change the location to "greater new york city area" (with quotes). Linkedin does not utilize cities such as New York, New York - they use general areas. You can check how the area you want is on the profiles by searching for someone directly on LI & look how the area is displayed on the profile. You can also check by doing a zip code lookup & then seeing how the area is described on the profile (Zip code lookup is in the advanced search of the People search box on LI). That is how you can effectively use the areas to xray LI.
I got good results using the following query on http://websearch.recruiting.com :

(java | javascript) ajax sql (developer | engineer | programmer) ("open source")

where location = new york, ny
