Boolean Strings Network

The Internet Sourcing Community

LinkedIn recently went through a round of changes. As part of it, a few search possibilities for basic members seem to have stopped working. There's a link to "advanced member search" in groups, a link to "recently joined members" on the home page , and the advanced Boolean syntax - all of which seem broken.

Do you search for people on LinkedIn? Which search filters do you feel are valuable and at what level is your membership?

What do you think of the LI groups redesign?

Overall a great tool for the basic user-

Like the Groups redesign, however had to get used to looking at the right of the page for the 'Updates: Last 7 days". Previously I just had to go to the top of all the discussions to see the latest ones.

I do find the advanced search opeators that you can use in the People Search box a bit buggy - sometimes they work, sometimes they don't: http://learn.linkedin.com/linkedin-search/#advanced_search_tips

Hi Irina,
I do search LinkedIn often. With the recent changes, more so then ever I have been taking advantage of the bottomless keyword search. Perhaps its not technically bottomless but you can certaintly add more key words within the tool then you can into a google search. I also like how you can add multiple company names to a search as well. I just have a basic memebership, however my company has the recruiters desktop. I use multiple search methods as each can produce different results.

Thanks - great question as we are going through so many changes these days!
