Hello BSN Members,

So when you feel you've exaughsted all your avenues to find candidates in a very niche market, where do you go from there?

I work in the pharmaceutical industry and am looking for candidates in Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Operations, and Regulatory Affairs.

I have pounded through google searchs of linked in, jigsaw, spoke, etc. Where do I go from there? I feel fustrated and stuck! I have tried cold calling directly into companies, but in the pharmaceutical world, secretaries get fired for giving out names....

Any help would be appreciated!

Regards,
Elyse

I had a similar search last year for a medical device company and to boot the candidate needed ivd experience (invitro). I can’t give you all the strings I used because there were so many. But through trial and error I was able to find 501(k) filings with contact names from fda.gov sites. The string went something like -- site:fda.gov 501(k) keyword keyword. This is very labor intensive; as there are many documents and as you change keywords or company names more might appear. Each document will yield just a couple of names of regulatory manager types. You might have to add a range of years to your string to narrow results. Also, if you haven’t already done so, a site search of raps.org might still also have some yield.
As Marilyn mentioned, the site (or xraying a site) search is a very powerful tool to use. I ran the following search in Google and got over 6,000 results:

site:linkedin.com Pharmacovigilance (inurl:pub | inurl:in) -intitle:directory

You will have to narrow it down by adding a function to the string (such as a title possibly and locations.

You can also change the string for "Clinical Operations" and "Regulatory Affairs".
Hi Marilyn and Gary,

Great feedback thank you. I have run xray searchs through google for Linked In, Jigsaw, and Spoke already, actually like ten or more times. Definitely have called every single person that popped up through that.

Maryilyn, I didn't even think to do a search through RAPS from google. I have an association membership with them, but didn't think to run it through google. I'm going to do that now. Also great point to run through the fda website. I grabbed some actual names off their website last week, but ph

I really appreciate your feedback guys!

Hi Elylse,

I forwarded the link to one of my friends, who on the surface looks like a perfect fit. If she isn't she may know someone. Her name is Diane in case you hear from her... Good luck!
