Help me get my productivity up. I need a lot of direction and what's wrong with my string?

Gang,

My post could actually be broken down into multiple posts.  Please read and respond to anyone you can help with.

I am trying to come up to speed on creating strings.  It is my intention to become an "expert" and give back to others what I have already received from the group.

I am looking for "Pre-Sales Engineers"  as with many  roles, titles vary.  Many companies call them system engineers, and you have to drill into the resume or profile to find what I am looking for a technical person who understands the technology or service being sold, who works with the Sales team.  There are "Systems Engineers" "Sales Engineers" "Sales Consultants"  "SE"  "Pre Sales" "Pre-Sales" and the list could go on.

1) Does anyone know of a list of titles that companies use to describe functional roles?  
2) With titles, how would I narrow down to the technology and companies I am looking for?  My guess would be "keywords" in the string/


Here is a string I put together and got zero results on Google.  What's wrong with my string?

site:linkedin.com (inurl:in OR inurl:pub) -intitle:directory -inurl:dir -inurl:jobs company: system or "sales engineer" or "presales engineer" or "pre sales engineer" or "pre-sales engineer" or "SE" IP near Protocol "insert company name"


I need help, I am just starting my own firm and have a great beginning, I am an individual, with a low budget and really do not have money to invest in training, software etc for the search biz.  I could probably spend a few hundred but no more to educate myself.  But that is the limit of my budget for now.  I will as soon as I get some revenues.  I have 4 jobs I could bill on by end of July.

3a) Which do you use?
4) Sites/Articles/Self Education to get up to speed?


I am one person, doing everything and I need to maximize productivity.

You need to watch your syntax. The following string will work in GOOGLE replacing "companyname" with an actual name:

site:linkedin.com (inurl:in OR inurl:pub) -intitle:directory -inurl:dir -inurl:jobs "sales engineer" OR "presales engineer" OR "pre sales engineer" OR "pre-sales engineer" OR "SE" IP Protocol "companyname"

NOTE: The 'NEAR' command does not work in Google; your OR's have to be capitalized;
