Recently I was asked if I knew how to do a UK location-based search on LinkedIn and realised I didn’t because I didn’t know what the full list of UK LinkedIn locations was. This meant that I couldn’t determine if I had all those locations in any defined region and I couldn’t find a list of ALL UK locations anywhere.
Examining LinkedIn, it seems to have major locations like the town of Stevenage and allocates a code to these i.e. in-gb-4630-Stevenage with minor locations within…

I found a few good conference attendee lists today from this site. I'm not sure it is hugely popular, but it was very easy to find pages of attendees and speakers. Designed to be mobile friendly it is a good source of info.

My webinar this is all about Location based Candidate Sourcing. Very often my sourcing demonstrations find candidates in big cities with big populations but what happens when you want candidates in a remote area with perhaps only a few thousand people in the population. This is a common problem and made even more difficult when the thousands of candidates from the big…

HI all,
I wanted to share how to unlock the profile for the sourcing contest, my approach was different from Irina's since I used linkedin to unlock the right profile. Below is the brief explanation of my approach.
Here is the challenge:

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to best search for to source for various levels of grocery managers, various department managers up to Director level? I'm new to boolean searches.
I'm a Contract Recruiter working for a large grocery chain, though I've found several pertinent grocery related job sites, they won't pay their membership fees.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated,
Nancy

ContinueI’ll start off by saying I need to see a doctor, it is now 04:00 in the UK and I have been awake since 02:30 thinking about sourcing candidates and what methods and tools yield great results. I know I am addicted to sourcing!
I first became addicted to internet sourcing probably in 2007 when I first got sucked into the underworld and began to hear about Shally Steckerl, Job Machine and AIRS Training and certificates.
What I was reading sounded like the…

As mentioned in What Does a Google URL mean? Part I, every query we ask Google to run is represented with a URL that points to a results page, these URL’s are not static, but dynamic links which are continually updated and therefore provide real time results.
To fully maximize the use of our Boolean operators and Google queries we must understand the URL Syntax Google uses. Let’s…

Search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo are used throughout the sourcing community on a daily basis to source talent. We are so use to plugging our Boolean operators into Google, narrowing down searches and sifting through the results.
But, have you ever looked at the Google URL when conducting a search? If not you should!

For long time now – I have been finding new ways to search on twitter. In fact, I also tried contacting Twitter to find one reason why they do not have a Bio Search facility inside. However, their internal search facility is so weak that it is faster to search a twitter page using search engines than internally.
When it comes to searching candidates via Google – LinkedIn tops the chart as it is designed in such a way where you can search public profiles very easily. Other networking…
